As far as I have discovered yet (and managed to note down), these are the differences between the Dreamcast and the Gamecube releases of the game. At some point I will also look at the Japanese version compared to the western release (as far as I know the PAL and NTSC American versions are the same).
- The music was presented at a higher quality on the Dreamcast as they could fit it on the GD-ROM (especially with it being a 2-disk game), however the Gamecube version’s (Legends) music had to be compressed / at a lower bitrate. Off the top of my head, the Gamecube discs hold around 1.4GB of data.
- Not 100% about this one yet I’ve not had time to check, but I think the healing chime sound effect is different on the Dreamcast.
- Again, I need to verify this, but I think the amount of experience obtained is different between the versions.
- A big obvious one is the extra content Sega added to Legends – there is the Doc and Maria and a few other things that I need to remember / research.
- One more that could be my imagination, but it seems like the sound effects for ‘Focus’ are different.
